Nothing is off-limits when it comes to the world of fashion, and the underwear-as-outerwear look is proof of that. Ever since last year when Kendall Jenner, Olivia Rodrigo, and Hailey Bieber ventured out wearing men’s boxers, the trend has been picking up steam.
Although they were worn in the 19th century under dresses as an alternative to the restrictive undergarments women had to wear, bloomers have now evolved to take on a life of their own and become the star of the outfit.
This fun shorts trend (kind of like a more feminine version of the boxer shorts trend) has been making its appearances on social media and is now becoming one of this summer’s hottest looks. It girls have ditched real bottoms en masse and are setting out in underwear or shorts similar to it, and we’re not mad about it.
